THE MAGNA CHARTA OF THE CHURCH-2013!

Ephesians. 4:1-16- I Therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye would walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye were called with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;  Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

THERE IS ONE BODY, AND ONE SPIRIT, EVEN AS YOU ARE CALLED IN ONE HOPE OF YOUR CALLING;  ONE LORD, ONE FAITH, ONE BAPTISM, ONE GOD AND FATHER OF ALL, WHO IS ABOVE ALL, AND THROUGH ALL, AND IN ALL.

But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.  Wherefore He saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.  (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?  He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

AND HE GAVE SOME, APOSTLES; AND SOME, PROPHETS;  AND SOME, EVANGELIST;  AND SOME, PASTORS AND TEACHERS;  FOR THE PERFECTING OF THE SAINTS FOR THE WORK OF THEIR MINISTRY, FOR THE EDIFYING OF THE BODY OF CHRIST;

TILL WE ALL COME IN THE UNITY OF THE FAITH, AND OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE SON OF GOD, UNTO A PERFECT MAN, UNTO THE MEASURE OF THE STATURE OF THE FULNESS OF CHRIST:

That we henceforth be not more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

FROM WHOM THE WHOLE BODY FITLY JOINED TOGETHER AND COMPACTED BY THAT WHICH EVERY JOINT SUPPLIETH, ACCORDING TO THE MEASURE OF EVERY PART, MAKETH INCREASE OF THE BODY UNTO THE EDIFYING OF ITSELF IN LOVE.

APOSTOLIC ACTIVATION, ADVANCEMENT, & ALIGNMENT!

Acts 2:42-  And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine (teaching) and fellowship, and in breaking of bread and in prayers.

What a tremendous time it is for the church, the ecclesia, to rise up with fervor and passion to embrace the “Sun of Righteousness, who has risen with healing in His wings.”  (Mal. 4:2)

What should our attitude be concerning what is being revealed?  Should we be overcome with fear and doubt, with a pessimistic attitude, or should we be filled with love and power and a sound mind? (2 Tim. 1:7)  Just like in the “Shift” from “Law to Grace”, there was a period of silence, waiting for the appearing of Christ to come, the one full of “grace and truth”, who had received “grace upon grace.”

There should be no fear of “too much grace” if we have put the identity of our Father through Jesus Christ in sons and daughters! Who really wants, as a son of God, just to ‘barely get by’, or just do enough to feel righteous!?!  If the true spirit of Christ is in us, we desire to pleasing to Him, and experience the “surpassing greatness of His power!”  (Eph. 3:19,20)

HOW DO WE ACTIVATE THE KINGDOM?  Jesus said in Luke 12:32- ” Fear not, little flock;  for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kindom.”  You must simply “receive” the kingdom, because we have grace and a kingdom that cannot be shaken.  If you have been apprehended by the Lord, then all you can do is apprehend, or lay hold, of Him and not let go!

HOW DO WE ADVANCE THE KINGDOM?  Jesus said in Luke 16:16- “The Law and the Prophets were until John;  since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and everyone is pressing into it.”  We have “preached the church” and “postponed the kingdom!”  The Kingdom is always “at hand”, or in your grasp!  The kingdom of God is “within” you, so began to preach and share and demonstrate the kingdom in everyday life, and we will see the “domain of darkness” pushed back, and Father of lights will shine through the Son of His Love, Jesus Christ. (Col. 1:12)

HOW DO WE ALIGN WITH THE KINGDOM?  The last scripture in the Old Testament in Mal.4 says that the “Elijah was coming, and He would turn the “hearts of the Fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”  (4:4-6)  John the Baptist came in the “spirit and power of Elijah” to turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God.  In Luke 1:17 it says, “to turn the hearts of fathers to the children, and the disobedience to the wisdom of the just, (the attitude of righteousness), TO MAKE READY A PEOPLE PREPARED FOR THE LORD!”

This year is all about coming into the government of God through divine order and relationship!  As you find your place in His identity, purpose, vision, inheritance, and blessing, you will be aligned and set in the body to be all you were meant to be.  We must simply “embrace His grace”, and experience our foundation in Him.  “THAT I MAY KNOW HIM AND THE POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION AND THE FELLOWSHIP OF HIS SUFFERINGS, BEING CONFORMED TO HIS DEATH!  (Phill. 3:10)

May the Father richly bless and keep you in the love of God and in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.  Amen!  (2 Co. 13:14)

CHURCH: FROM CRISIS TO COMMISSION! (PT. 2)

The Shift in the church, as we know it, is taking an incredible turn!  Just in the last month, since the beginning of the second half of this year, July 2012, we are seeing the people of God beginning to be mobilized from just special seasons, or Kairos, into a quality time of walking in alignment with the Father!  This is the “chronos time”, or “chronological” time!  It means a “duration of time, which may be a point, a lapse, a span, a period, a quantity, a measure, a duration, or a length.”  Kairos (seasons) suggests kind of time.  Chronos tells what day it is.  Kairos tells of special happenings occurring during the time frame of Chronos!

The church, as we know it, has come to its “wit’s end!”  It has come to the end of it’s own wisdom.  I keep using the phrase, “AS WE KNOW IT”, because what we’re entering into is a prophetic cycle that will bring us back to our ‘apostolic course.’  I want to bring I Peter 4:7-11 to your attention, with an emphasis on what the Lord spoke to my heart when bringing a message to a conference in a church in East Texas in 1999!  “But the end of all things, AS WE KNOW IT, is at hand;  therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.  And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”  Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.  As each one has received a gift, minister in to one another (employ it in serving one another), as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.  If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God.  If anyone ministers, or serves, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever.  Amen.”

The End of all things is not the finality as we might think, it is the ‘END’ of the transition, from one age to another!  Again, the end of all things, as we know it, is here!  The church can no longer operate out of its own strength or wisdom, we must have the “manifold wisdom of God!”  (Eph. 3:10)  This present evil age is being swallowed up with the ‘powers of the age to come’, that is, those who have been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,… (Heb. 6:4,5)   This manifold wisdom of God is helping us transition from the old to the new, being made known “to the principalites and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He purposed, or accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in him.”  (Eph. 3:10-12)

So, through His grace and wisdom, we are moving from “crisis to commission!”  The love of God must increase in His people, not wane, or decrease.  Our hospitality and fellowship must be sincere and done without murmuring, or complaining.  Every one must be equipped to serve and minister to each other, being good stewards of what the Father has given us.  Two areas are addressed in I Peter 4:11-  If anyone speaks… and, If anyone serves…If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracle, or the utterance of God.  If anyone serves, let them do it as to bring glory and honor to God through Jesus Christ.  This will restore his dominion (his power, authority, and rule) and glory through Christ in the church.  To come out of the crisis, we’ve had to experience the baptism of fire and the baptism of suffering.  I. Peter 4:12-14 says, “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;  but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.  If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.  On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.”

THE KEY TO COMING OUT OF CRISIS:  JUDGMENT!

When many hear the word “judgment”, they immediately think of “hell-fire and brimstone.”  But the word “judgment” is from the Greek, krisis, or where we get our english word ‘crisis.’  Isn’t that interesting?  What does it mean?  It carries the idea of a “separating, the process of distinguishing, and selection, making a decision.”  Another word for judgment is a legal term describing the judicial process of dealing with guilt or innocence.  The word if used chiefly for the verdict itself, reached after an investigation.  That’s why, continuing in I Peter 4:17-19 says, “For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house, or the household, of God;  and if it begin with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?  Now “if the righteous one is scarcely saved, Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?”  Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful creator.”

This judgment that is not coming, but is here, is discerning the things that are different!  The reason why we have not been able to judge or discern good from evil, is that we have never learned to discern or recognize, that different is not necessarily demonic!  In fact, in Phill. 1:10, that says “that you may approve the things that are excellent”, means to be able to discern the things that are different.  Difference, or diversity, is a part of the manifold ( multi-faceted, much colored) grace of God!  We will not have true unity out of “sameness” but out of diversity.  Unity is not everyone looking the same or being able to parrot the same doctrine but comes out of the “unity of the Spirit” that brings us to “unity of the faith!” (Eph.4:3,13)  God made us all different, each one with a unique quality to respond to him, so He could take the differences of many, and bring them into harmony, or agreement, with Him.  Coming into agreement with Him, is arriving at the same time for a “divine appointment” with Him!

The goal of the “Great Commission” (Matt. 28:19) is to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, not just converts…”  The church has been in crisis because we have been content to preach the gospel to a few just like us, rather than to receive the authority that Jesus has given us, not only in heaven, but on earth, to “make ALL see what is the fellowship (stewardship, or administration) of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ.” (Eph. 3:9)  The mystery is being unveiled, or made known, through the “preaching of Jesus Christ and made known by the prophetic scriptures to all nations…” (Romans 16:25-27)  This is according to the “commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience of faith–to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever.  Amen.”

There we have it:  Because of the righteous judgment (crisis) of God, we are able to be commissioned with the commandment of the Father, to carry out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.  I Peter 5:10,11 says, ‘But may the God of all grace, who called us by His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, AFTER THAT YOU HAVE SUFFERED A WHILE, will Himself restore, establish, strengthen, and settle you.  To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever.  Amen.”

Ephesians 3:20,21 sums it up:  Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory (in the church) by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.  Amen!  Yes, Yes, Yes, and Amen!!

Jim Becton

APOSTOLIC COMMISSION AND THE NUMBER “38”!

I have been sharing on our (new) apostolic commission for our assignment concerning this year!  If you remember, I shared last time that this June 7, 2012, is “38” years since my car accident at the age of 17 that ushered me into a brand new life and experience!  I was in a Shreveport, La. for 30 days, and the Lord appeared to me and made known my calling and things that I would experience upon embracing His call of ministry, or service, to the body of Christ!  For many years I could not speak of these things, and only when Pam and I were “set apart” unto our apostolic work in 1998/99, did He begin to reveal the heart of the Father in things He showed me.

Since that time, every July begins an apostolic commission as it relates to the apostolic call, career, campaign, company, and commission for our assignment that overlaps two years, hence ,(NEW) Apostolic Commission 2012/2013!!  Ironically, this past Sunday, June 3, we ministered in a fellowship in Deer Park that was founded in 1974, being “38” years ago.  I was sharing on our apostolic commission going back to my call 38 years ago, and the Lord quickened me to go to Luke 5  to the story of the man who had an infirmity for “38” years!

Luke 5:1-5-  After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.  Now there is in Jerusalen by the sheep gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches.  In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water.  For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water;  then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had.  Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years.

You know the story, Jesus asked him, “Do you want to be made whole, or well?”  It would seem like an obvious question, except the answer reveals his mindset of being there thirty-eight years!  He begins to explain that he had no one to put him in the water when the angel came and stirred the waters, that everytime, someone would get in to the pool just before him.  But in verse 5, Jesus said, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”  And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.  And that day was the Sabbath.

The key to the question and answer was, that he did not need any man to help him into the pool, because THE MAN, the Man Christ Jesus, had showed up to heal him.  There was no need any longer for an angel to come down and stir up the waters!   Now, verse 2 is interesting, because that the pool was by the “Sheep Gate” in Jerusalem, or the gate that pertains to sheep!  Jesus was once again showing that He had compassion on those who were like “sheep without a shepherd!”  It is a day for the sheep, or the saints, to be made whole, or well, healed, delivered, and totally set free from their past bondages and mindsets.

The pool was called “Bethesda”, which means “Place of Outpouring”, or “House of Grace.”  The number “38” itself has connotations for “an opportunity for the glory of God, His glorious grace, to manifest!”  The pool itself had “five porches”, five being the number for grace and representing the “fivefold ministry”, or five facets of the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher of Eph. 4:11.  As we shared this message, the Father began to reveal what He was doing in that fellowship, the pastor, who is the founder of the church, has been in the hospital for several weeks, and the elders and church have been continuing on, believing the Lord to fulfill their destiny in Him!

I believe the Father is desiring for us to have understanding of what is happening in this hour!  It is important that we see that He is opening up a “door” or an opportunity for the word!  He is ready to close the doors behind us, and bring about this ‘apostolic’ shift in those that can continue in Him.  We are joining our hearts in agreement with all those who are coming into alignment with heaven and who are embracing the “heavenly vision” to reclaim full apostolic power and authority in the earth realm today.  This is our commission for this new assignment and new alignment for what is coming forth!  Are you ready to let go of all that is behind you, and press onward unto the “high calling of God in Christ Jesus?”

Rev. 3:8-  “I know your works.  See, I have this day set before you an open door, and no one can shut it;  for you have a little strength, have kept my word, and have not denied by name.”

BLESSINGS,

JIM & PAM BECTON
