My last post had six passages out of the epistles That had the word “Till” or “Until” in them! In our FATHERS HEART FAMILY we have a saying “TILL-TIME!” In the Old & New Testaments there are more than 20 Until’s that have meaning to a text.
Years ago, in the 90’s, the Lord showed me this out of Hosea 10:12- “Sow to yourselves righteousness, reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground; for …it is time to seek the LORD TILL He comes and rains righteousness upon you.” I began to look them up in scripture and I called them in the New Testament, “The Gospel of UNTIL.”
Many people still have an “any-minute” theology, not just concerning eschatology, but in believing in many things in their lives, from miracles to finances, etc. “I know the Lord is going to do _____________ any minute now”, many say! Pam and I used to have that mentality that “any day” now, an “any-minute” mentality that it will just all happen.
And though we believe in “waiting upon the Lord” and that He can do anything He wants to do in our lives, we had to “change our thinking” and not put God “in a box.” When we began to align ourselves with His purposes and plans and walk it out, He accomplishes it by His own grace and purpose!
I know my sweet little Mother who passed away last year never thought she would live as long as she did or have to deal with Dementia or Alzheimers. Many still live with the mentality I don’t have to plan or pursue the things of God or His kingdom, we will be “out of here” any-minute! That mentality has kept many Christians from maturing in Christ and fulfilling their calling and election in Christ.
I do believe in a Physical, personal return of Jesus Christ to the earth! I believe there will be an “appearing” of Christ, but before He appears “for” the church, He will appear “in” the Saints with power and glory. I. Thess. 1:10– when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed. I like what I heard an apostle say many years ago that His eschatology was found in “four” words: “Occupy TILL I come!”
But I think I finally have found out when He is coming: “AT THE END!”
I. Cor. 15:23-26- But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. THEN COMES THE END, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign TILL HE HAS PUT ALL ENEMIES UNDER HIS FEET. THE LAST ENEMY TO BE DESTROYED IS DEATH. (This gives more meaning to the rest of the chapter, I. Co. 15:27-55).
SO, ARE YOU READY FOR “TILL-TIME?”
