I give glory and honor to God for His love and mercy in my life “46” years ago at the age of 17 and calling me through His grace! The Lord Jesus appeared to me in my hospital room after being unconscious for three days and spoke to me, “Son, you shall not die but live, and declare the works of the LORD!” (Ps. 118:17). I spent a total of 30 days in the hospital but was able to start school for my senior year. A year later and finishing high school in 1975 at the age of 18 I began to testify and share of His “divine intervention” in my life! I was spared not just for my life, but for my destiny!
I knew my calling was going to be different and these 45 years in kingdom ministry has been a long and arduous journey but thank God for “His joy all along the way” and knowing that the journey is the process and the reward! I count it all but loss to declare the excellence of the knowledge of Christ and to suffer the lost of all things. That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.” (Phil. 3:8,10)
My first ministry assignment after two years at Wide World Ministries bible school in Ft. Worth, TX. began in May of 1978 in my hometown of Stamps, Ar. I met and began meeting with 4 Black ministers for a whole year before we launched an assembly. Charles Thomas began with me and his dad and two other men of God and to this day Charles and I stay in touch with a 42 year old friendship. Since that day we have always worked with all brethren because there is no skin barriers in the kingdom, WE ARE ALL ONE RACE!!
I do not understand nor do I accept that any minister, much less sons and daughters of God, can have any racial bias or prejudice in their heart toward anyone or any people group. The horrible events of the last two weeks and the death of fellow Houstonian George Floyd leaves us deeply grieved at this senseless tragedy! No true kingdom citizen and saint should condone this and we should rise up as the people of God and walk in true love and peace with all men!
Since the events of the last three months or so, we have truly not “passed this way before”, and we have definitely entered the New Era and everything that can be shaken will be shaken. But only those things that remain in the kingdom will not be shaken! We must have true reformation and restoration of all things spoken by the mouth of all God’s prophets since time began! (Hebrews 12:26,27 and Acts 3:19-21). NOTHING SHALL REMAIN THE SAME! We must not remain the same, we must embrace this powerful new day in the kingdom of God!
Let’s not settle for less, let’s press more and more into the fullness of the kingdom and His glory in the Ekklesia!
(Ephesians 3:20,21)
Yours for the kingdom,
Jim Becton (1975-2020)
