Reigning in Life!

Reigning in Life… Romans 5:1-5,17 (NKJV)

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us….

Vs. 17- For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

Pam and I were gone most of the day until early evening filled not just with excitement, but an expectancy that helped carry us through a long, arduous journey. This journey was not a trip, so to speak, it was actually the fulfillment of the last three months to the day of some important breakthroughs and increase, line upon line, and faith to faith and strength to strength! This last day of Sept., Sept 30, 2014!

Just when it seemed that this load might be too heavy, the Father God, the Father of spirits, released His life and His perseverance, His character, and His hope that does not disappoint, but causes His grace and life to abound in our lives and hearts. The outward demonstration of the physical is just a sign of the inward manifestation of Christ in US, the hope of glory. We seemed to be in a place where the cup was so full, that it could not be emptied to fill back up again. But His word and His Spirit knows when the “fullness of the times” is come and released to accomplish His desires and purposes.

There’s nothing like the “abundance of grace” and of the “gift of righteousness” which goes before you, not by your works or endeavors, but by His own purpose and grace that He has purposed and destined for you. We know “NOW IS THE TIME”, the SET TIME, for the favor of the LORD to come. (Ps. 102:13) Now is the awakening of the sons of God to arise, shake off the dust, and put on your strength, O Zion! (Isa. 52:1,2) The word Pam has had for years, to be “relieved” so you can be “released” into the fullness of the kingdom!

This release is not just some “theoretical”, high sounding, spooky spiritual non-sense,and soulish wish that now the time has come! This is the Sound of the Lord and the release of the captives. Now is the time to sieze the moment, not in the flesh, but with joy in tribulation, that ALL things work together for the good to those who love God, who are called according to His purpose. Many are called, but few are chosen. And the chosen must make their calling and election sure! When we stand on the sure foundation of Jesus Christ and walk in the newness of His life in us, we receive the “confirmation” and the “commission” for the new day in Christ! The day to “REIGN IN LIFE” through the One, Jesus Christ!

Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer..(Rom. 12:10-12)

Treasures New and Old

Trans-generational kingdom alignment:

Matt. 13:52 NKJV- Then he said to them, “Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure “things” new and old.”

Matt. 13:52 in the Message bible- Jesus said, “Then you see how every student well-trained is like the owner of a general store who can put his hands on anything you need, old or new, exactly when you need it.”

One of the greatest tools needed in the kingdom today is the ability to not only discern the truth of Christ concerning His kingdom, but to “facilitate” the treasure of Christ with “skillful wisdom” identifying truth from the “new and the old!”

We do not need to “reinvent the wheel”, as it were, we just simply need to learn how to bring up from the treasure house all things that are needed to facilitate the kingdom! Generations should be “over-lapping” and working together in synergy! Why don’t we not only learn new revelation, but be able to apply that which has been established and brings balance to the new!

The foundations of many generations are being “repaired and restored”, bringing new and old together. Each one does not have to come up with their “slant” or take on vital subjects like the kingdom of God and the Holy Spirit, why don’t we just learn how to “draw out” of the treasures we have from the past, bring them into the NOW, and press into the future! (Isa. 58:12)

Rev. 21:5- Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And he said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”
(He didn’t say “He was making all ‘new things’, he said, “…all things new.)

Collision Course!

Contemplating the current situation and state of the church, it doesn’t differ much than from the world! I was laying down at the end of a beautiful day with Pam celebrating our anniversary here in our beautiful hotel room in Galveston and heard this: COLLISION COURSE!

I know it doesn’t take much discernment to recognize this because of all that is happening in the world system. We know a “collision course” means that “two or more things are heading together to collide!” It’s very easy to see that with what’s happening in the natural and it certainly seems all negative.

But as I sit here writing, waiting on the Lord, the two worlds that are colliding in our (spirit) world are 1) kingdom of God or Christ, and the kingdom of this world; and 2) The true church (ecclesia) that Jesus is building, and the “institutional” church that man is building. We’ve all really known this, but now, it seems, there is no more middle ground! The line is drawn in the sand, and “LET THE (true) WORSHIPERS ARISE!!! The hour is come, and now is, that the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such to worship Him. (John 4:23)

We know, according to Jesus the head and builder of the church, you cannot serve two masters. You have to cling to the one, and leave the other. Upon the rock of revelation and the foundation of Jesus Christ, the gates of hell (hades) will not prevail against the church! (Matt. 16:18) The Father has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love…( Col. 1:13, amp)

The true church that Jesus is building is not made up man-made things, such as wood, stubble and hay, but is literally made of and consists of the eternal things, like gold, silver, and precious stones. (I. Co. 3:12) The best of man-made intentions, buildings, programs, and inspiration will never compare to the inspired (God-breathed) word of God! (2 Tim. 3:16)

Hebrews 12:18,22,23a, 25,27-29- For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest…But ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn,…

See that ye refuse not him that speaks. For if they escaped not who refused Him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from Him that speaks from heaven: And this word, Yet once more, signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

Wherefore, we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved (shaken), let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: FOR OUR GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE!

Kingdom Grace,

Two “Unholy” Things…

Two things the body of Christ needs deliverance from:

1) “Constructive” Criticism!

I don’t know about you, I’ve never had any “constructive” criticism… When I hear somebody say, “Can I give you some constructive criticism?” I just flinch and think, Here it comes… Could it be that, criticism is just “criticism”? (Now, correction is different, we must all receive correction, I.e, chastening or discipline from the Lord as sons!)

Criticism is normally “opinionated”, as in one giving their own ideas as to what someone should do…

2) “Un-sanctified” Ambition!

Unholy, or selfish ambition is strife! Pure and simple, it causes division, jealousy and envy in the people of God! Religious ambition is shrouded in pride, false humility and spiritual immaturity. Ambition, in its purest sense, is fine in raising children to be responsible, being self-motivated, and growing up as law-abiding citizens!

Ambition in the kingdom is self-seeking, self-reliant, and self-righteous!

September Shift! (2014)

There has been a great shift in church and ministry the last 10-15 years, but it is certainly coming more pronounced that the line between what’s been called “para-church” ministries and the local church is clearer! What I mean by that, in past years if you began a para-church or evangelistic ministry, it could be considered a threat to the local church or at least in “competition” with the local church paradigm at the time.

Thank God, there is a “bridging of the gap” as we grow in understanding that the local church (assembly/house) is the “birthing ground, the training center” where those that are added to the church are taught and established in the basics of the Christ-Life and who they are in Him. As we are seeing more and more the connection between the kingdom and the church, then we recognize that every area and facet of life is to be brought under the rule of Christ, not just the church!

We are seeing the church as the “corporate” body of Christ in a city/area/region, and seeing the “fivefold” or five-faceted ministry of Christ being restored to a “multiplicity of ministry”! This is causing our “wineskin” or structure to expand and not be so rigid as not to recognize that without divine order in the body of Christ, we will lose the precious oil and wine of the Spirit!

Sometimes we think too “idealistic”, saying that every local assembly must or should have the “fivefold” working in it. The bottom line is, the local church paradigm, as we know it, could not handle or facilitate this. Yet, there is a full five fold operation of the Holy Ghost in a city/region, and if joined together by the Spirit, every local assembly can tap into and receive the benefits from it. It will take both a “citywide eldership” of teaching and evangelistic pastors, as well as the mobile ministries of apostles and prophets, to prepare the saints to transition from “members to sons!”

What will the shift look like? Local training centers are expanding to apostolic kingdom centers, instructors or mentors shifting to an apostolic fathering dimension, and local church staffs to apostolic team ministries. It is here upon us. Every ministry is needed and every facet of body-building is needed, now let’s arise and ascend into divine alignment through the authority of Holy Spirit!

Then we can no doubt see CHRIST…”that upon this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. And I will you the keys of the kingdom of heaven…” (Matt. 16:18,19)

Blessings,

How are the Mighty Fallen?

I am deeply sorrowful, as so many, of the tragic passing of Bishop David Huskins! I did not know him personally, but I know of the Fellowship and scores of bishops and leaders over the years from the 80’s connected to who and what Bishop Huskins represented. I watched and listened to the passion in his voice and heart for ALL men!! What a terrible loss for us, but what a great gain for him! (Phil. 1:21)

I’m not only concerned about those well-known, but the countless “unknown, unsung” ministers who have given their lives in pouring out and into God’s people and receive no recognition! ! I’ve known good men who have passed away broken-hearted in tragedy or at the end of their lives and ministry without honor, dazed, and not too many who care! Men younger than me who have either made “ship-wreck” or in brokenness given up after making mistakes, have forfeited their right in fulfilling their destiny in Christ here in this present age!!

We have no choice now but to shift from “organizational churchianity” to an “apostolic farmily” (family-army). Honor and humility go hand-in-hand and the superstar mentality in the body of Christ Is killing the heart and soul of the church. I remember being driven in ministry for years to go and do meetings, living from week to week, dreaming of seeing a great move of God, yet mainly dying of despair and living in desperation!! What a joy and blessing it has been to be out of the “main-stream” of pentecostalism/charismatic fuss over gifts and anointing and rest in the reality that I belong to Christ, I am who He says I am, and that I please Him for being who I am, not what I do!!!

I beseech you, leader and saint alike, I implore you to find real, relational fellowship and leadership with those “like-minded”, of like precious faith who have the heart of the Father, the love of the brethren, and care more about you than they care of pleasing a system! Recently I’ve had to make more than one decision concerning covenant relationships, was I going to stand fast as a father and love and correct? Or just walk away, leaving unanswered questions, take the “easy-road” of not having to confront or deal with uncomfortable situations. To be accountable is a “two-way” street and those who want you to ‘pick and choose’ friends and not identify with certain ones because of reproach or popularity is to commit “SPIRITUAL SUICIDE!”

Finally, the FAMILY can never become an ARMY until we learn to love, trust, and find our place in the body of Christ with a “kingdom” understanding. I do not belong to myself, neither do I have the right to be “offended” or withdraw from those or what I do not like or understand! You have to make a choice to be offended, or to be self-righteous, and to separate yourself, cutting yourself off from the life-giving spirit that comes from real, true, long-lasting relationships!!

Apostle Paul reminded his son Timothy in 2 Ti. 2:-1-3- You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit (entrust) these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

With love and concern,

Jim Becton, your fellow servant

Observation – The Holy Spirits Fresh Breath!

Dr. Greg Crawford's avatarGreg Crawford

I wanted to write a different kind of blog today. It is about some observations I’m seeing more than a teaching. We all are still seemingly waiting for a sustained move of God and I want to encourage all that it is both happening now and yet to appear. First, I would say in the last few weeks a transition has occurred. There is something new that has unfolded. Greater expectation. Greater hope. An increase in dreams and God speaking in the night. The next level of revelation is beginning and changes of delivery of it. Hunger in People where there once wasn’t. We are seeing pockets of movement and also pockets of preparation for what is coming. I see God in His providential way working through some pockets of people seeing revival type meetings while others are not, but all are a deep work of the Spirit. The outpouring…

Discerning Real Relationships

Great word on relationships by Scott Stimson…

stimsonsr's avatarScott Stimson Ministries International

I did write a letter to the church, but Diotrephes, who wants to be head of everything, does not recognize us! If I do come to you, I shall not forget his actions nor the slanderous things he has said against us. 3 John 9

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us. 1 John 2:19

Never try to keep someone in your life that God is removing just let them go not only for their good, but for yours never try to force relationships let them come to you in mutual agreement.

People who want to know the truth about you will hear all sides before they make any kind of judgment, and those who choose to believe a lie…

Gifts, Ministries, and Operations of the Holy Spirit!

There is really no other way for the church that Jesus Christ is building to come into operation and function in a city without the power and authority of the Holy Spirit!!! We can ‘build’ our churches, our fellowships, our buildings, our programs, our people. But the church Jesus Christ is “building” will have the keys of the kingdom and will allow Him to be the head of the body, which is His church!  (Matt. 16;13-19; Eph.1:22,23; Col. 1:16-18)

Heb. 3:1- Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus,…
Heb. 3:4- For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God.

We have three great examples of the church being established in the book of Acts through the Holy Spirit: 1) The church in Jerusalem- the apostles and elders, and the Seven 2) the church in Antioch- certain prophets and teachers;  Sending forth of Paul and Barnabas into the apostolic, and 3) The church in Ephesus- The 12 elders/overseers…

1) The church in Jerusalem-
Acts 2:1-4- When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddendly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 2:42-47- And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

Acts 6:2-4- Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, “It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables. Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the HOLY SPIRIT and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; “but we will give ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

Acts 9:31- Then the church throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the HOLY SPIRIT, they were multiplied.

Acts 11:22-24- Then news of these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to go as far as ANTIOCH. When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encourage them all that with purpose of heart they should continue in the Lord. For he was a good man, full of the HOLY SPIRIT and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.

2) The church in Antioch-
Acts 13:1-4- Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the HOLY SPIRIT SAID, “Now separate (set apart) to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away. So, being sent out by the HOLY SPIRIT, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus.

Acts 13:13,14- Now when Paul and his company set sail from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia; and John, departing from them, returned to Jerusalem. But when they departed to Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and sat down.

Acts 13:43,44- Now when the congregation had broken up, many of the Jews and devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. On the next Sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God.

Acts 14:25-27- Now when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia. From there they sailed to Antioch, where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work which they had completed. Now when they had come and gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and that He had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.

Acts 15:32-36- Now Judas and Silas, themselves being prophets also, exhorted and strengthened the brethren with many words. And after they had stayed there for a time, they were sent back with greetings from the brethren to the apostles. However it seemed good to Silas to remain there. Paul and Barnabas also remained in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also. Then after some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us now go back and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they are doing.

3) The church in Ephesus:
Acts 19:1-10- And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to EPHESUS. And finding some disciples he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.” And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?” So they said, “Into John’s baptism.” Then Paul said, “John baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.” When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the HOLY SPIRIT came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.

vss. 7-10- NOW THE MEN WERE ABOUT TWELVE IN ALL. And he went into the synagogue and spoke boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading them concerning the things of the kingdom of God. But when some were hardened and did not believe, but spoke evil of the Way before the multitude, he departed from them and withdrew the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus. And this continued for two years, so that all who dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

Acts 20:16,17- For Paul decided to sail past Ephesus, so that he would not have to spend time in Asia; for he was hurrying to be at Jerusalem, if possible, on the Day of Pentecost. From Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called for the elders of the church.

vss. 28-32- “Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the HOLY SPIRIT has made you overseers (bishops), to shepherd (feed/pastor) the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.

“Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears. So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”

The bottom line: Acts 28:30,31- Then Paul dwelt two whole years in his own rented house, and received all who came to him, PREACHING THE KINGDOM of GOD and TEACHING THE THINGS CONCERNING the LORD JESUS CHRIST with all confidence, no one forbidding him.

When the ‘church in the city’ (the region) comes together with apostles and elders, prophets and brethren, saints with the whole church, teachers, pastors and evangelists, then we will see what shall follow after: miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments (administrations), tongues… (Acts 15:4,7,22; I. Co. 12:4-6; 27,28; Ephesians 4:11)

This is comes out of relationships birthed and developed in the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ our Lord.  When spiritual fathers and sons relate together, then the gifts and the calling of God can come with strength and balance.  Blessings…

What is REVIVAL? (Or, What is it not?)

Revival must never become an end in itself, but a means to an even higher end—the glory of the Lord being revealed and His kingdom being extended…  (Rick Joyner, Morningstar Ministries)

I saw this quote from Rick Joyner about revival and I had been thinking about that word this afternoon. I have being seeing some posts about some churches experiencing a hunger for more of God and having spontaneous services as a result! And then I talk to some pastors and see other posts about how they wish the people were hungry for more of God and nothing really happening.

I admittedly have not been a big fan of the term “revival” in the way that most use it, as in, “Let’s have a revival”, meaning let’s have a week of meetings where hopefully we will attract some new people and stir up the saints! For something to be ‘re-vived’, it first had to be ‘living, alive’, so to be revived it has to be “brought back to life, to come or bring back to a healthy, vigorous, or flourishing condition after a decline.”

My problem with that is:

1) we’ve made revival an evangelistic campaign to win the lost, when in fact, when the church is alive, new people are coming in regularly as a result of a living, vibrant, praying, worshiping house!
2) why must the church always be falling back, having to be stirred up, discouraged and lost there hunger for God in the first place?

I like the term we’ve been hearing the last few years to bring the church back to a living, joyful state and that is an AWAKENING! I ‘ve worked and ministered in all areas of church life, so I understand that in our local fellowships it’s difficult to keep people stirred up and motivated to stay on fire! But that could be the result of a wrong mindset because “the way you get them in, is the way you have to use to keep them in!”

When we have a healthy leadership team and saints are being equipped for ministry, that is, to serve, love, worship, pray, and give, etc., then the only motivation needed is to “encourage, inspire, and empower them in who they are and have ‘equipping evangelists’ as part of the team or coming in through relationship to exhort them!”

So, back to my point: Every local house, assembly or fellowship has a special dynamic to why they exist, what they are doing, and how will they fulfill their assignment or mission! It was said of William Branham, the revivalist of the 40’s and 50’s, that the Lord spoke to him, “If you can only get the people to believe you, then nothing is impossible to them!”

Why does one church experience a sovereign move of God in their midst and others do not? I believe and see that it is exactly that, a “sovereign move of the Holy Spirit brought about by an intense, supernatural desire that ignites a spontaneous combustion through a blend of a spiritual DNA or chemistry that cannot be denied!”

And that should lead us on a continual journey of following after the Lord, that should lead us right into His manifest presence and the glory of the Lord. ..
